First weekend in New Orleans

After a long, sleep deprived van ride down the east coast we finally arrived at United Saints! The first night was filled with excitement and awe as we drove into the French Quarter for our scavenger hunter which enabled us to interact with tourists, locals, and familiarize ourselves with the area and attractions. New Orleans is such a lively city full of colors, culture, and welcoming people. During our scavenger hunt we went to Cafe Du Monde which is a famous French cafe that serves up Beignet's, a New Orleans staple. During that excursion my team met a very friendly waitress who was more than willing to help us with our scavenger hunt. She was ecstatic to see us embracing the culture and at that moment I felt a surge of warmth from the locals. Meeting people who live and work in the city is surely a great opportunity of the trip. After dining at several restaurants, it is clear that everyone here seems to be open to conversation and answering questions. I'll always remember the very positive vibe runs through the city.
