Wow. This is the first time I’ve been on the NOLA trip and it is simply amazing. Words cannot describe how not only amazed but grateful I am for not being any where near what the people of New Orleans have been through. Seeing what destruction the storm caused to this place gives me more motivation to want to contribute to helping this community. So far, I’ve done some sanding at a house belonging to an elderly man who was victim to the storm, cleaned the property of the rescue mission building, and helped out at the food bank sorting foods. I’m grateful for this opportunity. I am looking forward to working the rest of this week with the other Bonners and growing with them each as a team.
